About the Program

The Cornell Forensics Society

The Cornell Forensics Society is a student organization offering intercollegiate speech and debate competition. For individual speech events, we participate in the AFA, NFA, and DSR-TKA sanctioned tournaments. The two-person policy debate squad travels to CEDA, NDT, and ADA sanctioned tournaments. However, CFS does more than compete against other universities, our program also gives back to the Ithaca community with a public service program for youth and various on-campus events.

The program is open to all Cornell undergraduates regardless of previous experience or course of study. We provide equal opportunity to all students, especially those who have been traditionally excluded from privilege. Diversity enriches the learning experience for everyone. As a co-curricular activity, Forensics participation can be rewarded with course credit. Please read about debate, individual events, the coaches, and more about the program on this site and contact us with any questions on how to join.
